About Kent Wimmer

Kent Wimmer has been involved in planning, advocating and protecting trails and greenways in Florida for 20 years.  As the Florida Trail Association’s liaison for the Florida National Scenic Trail for the past eight years, Wimmer has coordinated the planning, construction, management and protection of this 1,400 mile long hiking trail.  He has also worked as a trails and recreation planner at the federal, state and local levels.  Wimmer currently serves as Vice President of the Partnership for the National Trails System.  He is a graduate from Florida State University (M.S. in Planning) and Ball State University (B.S. in Natural Resources), and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners.
