About Tania M. Schusler
Dr. Schusler currently serves as extension resource educator with Cornell Cooperative Extension of Tompkins County where she provides leadership for community education around environmental issues. Dr. Schusler holds Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in Natural Resource Policy and Management from Cornell University and a B.S. in Forestry from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Her research has focused on citizen participation in natural resource management and the role of social learning in the development of ‘co-management’ involving management agencies and local communities. She has collaborated with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation in the design, implementation, and evaluation of stakeholder involvement processes for fish and wildlife management in New York’s Eastern Lake Ontario Bay and black bear management statewide. She previously managed a statewide volunteer program for the Wisconsin Chapter of The Nature Conservancy and served as an environmental resource consultant with the National Wildlife Federation.
